HFMD....

So, yesterday when I was changing Trevor I noticed he had a couple red bumps on his bottom. Then, this morning I noticed some of these same bumps on his hands and feet, along with some sores in his mouth. I took him to see his pediatrician and it turns out he has Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. HFMD is a viral infection that you can't really treat you just have to let it run it course. Some kids who contract this refuse to eat b/c the sores inside the mouth become so aggitated, so you have to be sure dehydration doesn't set in. So far Trevor is still eating and drinking, so I'm thankful for this. The only side effect I've seen so far is that he seems a little more tired. Poor guy! On the way to the doctors we were rehersing in the car what kind of things his doctor would need to do particularly look in his mouth, since Trevor had a melt down when I tried to look inside. Once at the doctors Trevor did amazing. He's such a charmer! He had everyone laughing and talking about how cute he was.

"sure, right now, a lot & that's okay mama"

Currently, these are Trevor's favorite 4 phrases to say to me. When I ask him to do something, or tell him we're going to do a particular something that he's agreeable to he sweetly responds "sure." However, if he wants something and I'm not moving fast enough, or tell him he needs to be patient he says, "right now." One of my favorites is when I ask him if he wants something, usually edible, like a special M&M treat and he says, "a lot." Fortunately he doesn't know the difference between a lot and a little. All I have to say is, "wow I gave you a lot," and he happily takes whatever it is he wanted. The last phrase is sometimes cute, like when I hurt myself accidently and say ouch, he gently says, "that's okay mama." This morning however, it wasn't so cute. It typically takes me 10 minutes to get to Matthew's parents house, but this morning it took me an hour due to horrible traffic. Needless to say I was irritated while driving and Trevor could see this. So, he's in the back repeating over and over again, "that's okay mama." The thing is though, Trevor will not stop saying this until you tell him you are happy......

my first attempt at blogging...

I've been wanting to set up a blog about Trevor for some time now, and I've finally done it. I have several friends who blog about their children and I think it's such a great way to keep updated on their lives. Trevor keeps busy enough that I should never be without something to say.
